The collaboration between Slam Jam and Vans represents an ongoing meeting of the minds between two ideologies of creative subversion through the reinterpretation of timeless silhouettes. Partnering with multi-talented Polish-American artist Julian Klincewicz, they bring a capsule that explores Klincewicz's teenage creative energy, an age where the journey is more important than the destination. In 2022, Vans and Slam Jam rework the Sk8-Hi, designed with British artist Fergus Purcell aka Fergus "Fergadelic", a ubiquitous symbol of counter-culture worn by shoe and sneaker enthusiasts far and wide.
